The Word Mark: He Speaks Today
When Jesus departed this world He said He would send the Holy Spirit, and that this Spirit of truth “will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak” (John 16:13). He added, the Advocate (Helper) “whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you” (John 14:26-27). How blessed we are to have a lifelong companion (John 14:16), our Savior no less, to speak to us in the moment and direct us to the right path (John 10:27). We need only to look and listen so that we can begin to have understanding hearts (Matthew 13:10-16) and seek Him through His Word.
The Image Mark: The Dove and Cross
The He Speaks Today™ Image Mark symbolizes both Jesus’ sacrifice (i.e., the cross) and His promise of the Holy Spirit (i.e., the dove). The apple of the dove’s eye, the cross, reminds us that Jesus did not leave us alone when He died; He sent the Holy Spirit to teach and guide us using His words. Jesus, in speaking of his death, said, “It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you” (John 16:7).
The Tagline: Listen for His Voice in the Moment
The words “Listen for His Voice in the Moment” reminds us that the Holy Spirit is always with us, guiding our path. As we begin to look, listen, understand, grow through the Word, and ask, through prayer, we will see the manifestation of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
The Bottom Line
The bottom line is that we serve a humble, loving and merciful God, who through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, knocks on the door, through the Holy Spirit, and waits for us to answer (Revelation 3:20).
