OUR CHILDREN, OUR FUTURE
Sowing Gifts of the Heart™, through its Our Children, Our Future: Restoring Hope Mission, has set three primary short-term goals to assist children in low-income areas:
Our Children, Our Future: Restoring Hope Mission will adopt a graduating class in a low-income urban area. It will work with this class from the time the children are in kindergarten until they reach 12th grade, providing resources and working with school teachers, administration, and staff. Upon completion of high school, seniors graduating that year will receive scholarships.
Our Children, Our Future: Restoring Hope Mission will develop projects that assist in refurbishing schools in low-income areas – giving them “a facelift”. Studies show that the learning environment plays a powerful role in academic success.
Our Children, Our Future: Restoring Hope Mission will investigate middle schools in low-income areas that are experiencing positive academic achievement (a point where academic achievement begins to drop). Information garnered from these studies will be used to develop projects that help these children become more successful in school.
